Under one universe – A visit to Bosscha Observatory

10th August

Long awaited day has just arrived and here come the Bosscha Observatory! It will always be one of the biggest dream of a girl who has been wondering how it is possible to watch the stars that are shining brightly in the sky through a telescope. In fact, it is a double refractor which has two lenses with a diameter of 60 cm and named as the Zeiss double refractor. Unfortunately, it is used for the research purposes. Not to disappoint, the speaker showed us the tricks of how he can lift that giant telescope with one hand and how the host building of the telescope was built to work according to the position of the telescope where the roof can be adjusted as its position. We still have a chance to see two planets and butterfly cluster which is an open starts in the constellation of Scorpius. After watching those shining stars during the silent-chilled night here made me think there whether we come from different parts of the world and continents, we are still living under one universe and seeing the same Saturn, Jupiter or Butterfly cluster from the other parts of the world at the same time.
